Veterans Benefits Addendum to the Catalog

Paul Mitchell The School - Pasadena will permit any covered individual to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under chapter U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11, G.I. Bill® (Ch.33) or Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (Ch.31) benefits ending on the earlier of the following dates:

  1. The date on which the Department of Veterans Affairs provides payment for such course of education to such institution.

In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e) Paul Mitchell The School - Pasadena will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement of funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

VETERANS SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS POLICY

When the grade average of a veteran or eligible person falls below 80%, the student will be placed on academic probation for one month. If at the end of the probation period the student’s grades are still below 80%, veterans’ benefits will be terminated. Once minimum academic progress standards are being met, benefits can be reinstated.

When a student’s attendance falls below 90%, the student will be placed on attendance probation for one month. If at the end of the probation period the student’s attendance is still below 90%, veterans’ benefits will be terminated. Once minimum attendance standards are being met, benefits can be reinstated.

Credit/Hour Evaluation Policy:

Students receiving veteran’s benefits must have all prior education and training evaluated upon enrollment. Credit / hours will be awarded where applicable with the program being shortened accordingly. Transcripts and evidence of evaluation will be kept in the veterans file. Veterans will not be charged for transfer credits / hours.

Progress Policy:

Progress will be monitored at the end of each month for all students receiving veteran’s benefits. If at the end of any month the student’s grade fall below 80%, or if attendance falls below 90% of scheduled program hours, the student will be placed on probation for the following month. If by the end of the probation period the student’s grade is not raised to 80% or overall attendance is not raised to at least 90% of scheduled hours, the Veterans Administration will be notified and benefits will be interrupted.

Conditions for Reentrance:

If the director determines that the conditions, which caused the interruption, have been rectified the student will be eligible to receive benefits.

Maximum Time frame:

All programs must be completed within the originally contracted length of time.

Leave of Absence:

Veterans will be allowed to take a Leave of Absence for military duties.
